The EHF YAC Championships return to Lithuania this summer for the third time. After a very successful EHF Women’s 17 Championship 2017 in Klaipeda in August, this time the Lithuanian Handball Federation will be the organiser of one of the two EHF Women’s 19 Championships 2019, between 15th and 21st July. The city of Klaipeda has been assigned again as the venue for the event that will be hosting the eight participating nations.
VENUE All games will be played in one playing hall, Švyturio Arena. Home to the local Basketball Club Neptunas and with a capacity of 6.000 spectators. Švyturio Arena is a fully-equipped, modern venue that was built only as recently as 2011. Neptūnas sport hall will serve as the auxiliary training hall for the teams.
Hotel Ibis Styles Klaipeda Aurora and Amberton Hotel Klaipeda will host all the teams. Ararat All Suites Hotel will host the EHF Officials.
The hotels meet all standards required for an EHF Championship competition and the Team hotels have a very close proximity to the playing hall – both within approximately a 3,5 km radius. Flexibility of meal hours will be a further prerequisite, to ensure that meals will accommodate the individual needs of both the teams and the EHF officials, based on the playing schedule and match official nominations respectively.
The young players from 8 women’s national teams – and united by the excitement of handball – will have the opportunity to be part of a diverse community, sharing experiences with people of the same age group from different cultures and background.
